Rio Ferdinand:We have to take it on the chin.

Rio Ferdinand has ordered his Manchester United team-mates to accept a dose of their own medicine.

The defender was left gutted by Tottenham Hotspur's stoppage-time leveller at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

That result saw United's lead at the top of the Premier League table cut to just five points following Manchester City's routine 2-0 victory over Fulham just 24 hours earlier. The weekend results have left United at 1/3 to win this season's Premier League while City can be backed at 5/2 to retain their title.

The Red Devils have long made an art form of scoring late goals themselves and the psychological impact it can also have on the opposition.

Sir Alex Ferguson has now taken his players away for some winter sunshine in Qatar in a bid to escape the title pressure cooker, and prepare for this weekend's FA Cup clash with Fulham. United are 4/1 to win this season's FA Cup.

Ferdinand insists they can't allow the disappointment at White Hart Lane to fester in their minds for too long.

The defender insists: "It was disappointing but as soon as I got off the pitch at Spurs and into the changing room you kind of think back to how many times we have done that to other teams.

"We have to accept it now and again. We have to take it on the chin. We are in a good position but there are no medals given out yet. You have to keep chalking off the games and get as many three points in the bag as you can."
