Roberto Mancini: Will be very difficult because Arsenal are a very good team

Manchester City's leading scorer Sergio Aguero will miss the trip to Arsenal on Sunday, but could be back in action against Fulham a week on Saturday.

The Argentinian has not featured for the Citizens since New Year's Day, but is close to being ready to return after hamstring problems.

Manager Roberto Mancini confirmed ahead of a Sunday trip to the Emirates Stadium: "Sergio won't be available for at least another week. He should make the game against Fulham, but we won't risk him against Arsenal."

Mancini's men will be hoping to put to bed a lengthy hoodoo on Sunday, having last won at Arsenal in a league fixture in 1975/76.

City are 9/5 to claim a long-awaited victory this weekend, with the draw 5/2, while the visitors are 3/1 to keep a clean sheet.

However, Mancini is expecting a tough test from the Gunners, adding on his club's official website: "We want to end this run, but it will be very difficult because Arsenal are a very good team.

"We are missing a number of important players, but we can go there and come away with a good result."

City are already under pressure as they attempt to retain their Premier League title this season, as they trail Manchester United by seven points.

Last term the Citizens edged out their Manchester rivals by goal difference on a dramatic final day of the campaign.
